With a 2× captain and a 1.5× vice captain, two of your eleven players carry most of your score. Choose them well.
Best captain types
- All rounders who bat in the top six and bowl four overs.
- Opening batters in good form on a flat pitch.
- Strike bowlers on a pitch that helps them.
Spread the risk
Pick your captain and vice captain from different roles, for example a batter and a bowler. If one has a quiet day, the other can still carry your team.
Small contests and big contests
Against a few friends, the safe and popular captain is fine. To climb a big leaderboard, a strong but less popular captain can make the difference.
